Can I brew a clone of this beer at home?

The answer is a resounding YES.

Heineken outsells all other beers globally and is hugely popular, even in Ireland where it rivals the famous Guinness. Renowned for its easy-drinking, refreshing European lager style, you can now brew your own Heineken clone at home with this brew pack, saving you about $40 per carton.

This brew pack includes:

• 1.7kg Coopers European Lager
• 1kg Light Dry Malt
• 250gm Corn sugar (Dextrose)
• 12gm Hallertau Hops (or similar)
• 1 x American Ale – Safale US-05 Yeast
• (Safale w34-70 lager yeast if fermenting at 17°C)

Method:

Boil 1 litre of water, remove from heat, and steep the hops for 15 minutes. Strain the hop mixture into your fermenter. Add the 1.7kg European Lager Tin, 1kg Light Dry Malt, and 250gm Corn sugar. Top up the fermenter to 23 litres with cold water to bring the temperature to 25°C. Aerate the wort, sprinkle yeast, and ferment for 7–9 days. Use a hydrometer to check the gravity readings. When fermentation is complete, bottle or keg.
